For the communities of Safford and Thatcher, Arizona

Below shows the overall vision for the linear park and trail, from the conceptual master plan for the project that was developed with input from the local communities.

TRAIL ELEMENTS

MULTI-USE TRAILS

Trail corridor between the river and agricultural fields.   Both hard and soft trails will be available for runners, bikers, hikers and horse riders.

RIVER ACCESS

A series of native soil trails from the main trail will allow direct access to the river itself, and will be easy to repair following natural floods of the river.

VIEWS

Looking away from the river, the trail will offer outstanding views of Mount Graham and the majestic Pinaleno mountain range.

TRAIL ALONG  CANAL

Example of use of trail along irrigation canal to provide a connection from trailhead and parking area near main street of Safford to the river.
